How Arrington Aviary Took Flight
It all began in 2009, when Paul came across 13 tiny ducklings, just a day old and abandoned. Thinking fast, he gathered them up and brought them home. His wife, Mary, wasn’t exactly thrilled—at first. But before long, the ducklings won her heart too.
Paul built a small cage to keep them safe, but as they grew, so did the need for space. He handcrafted a large aviary in the garden, complete with a pond just for them. The ducklings thrived—and so did Paul's newfound passion for creating safe, enriching enclosures.
After several months of care, the time came for a bittersweet goodbye. The ducklings were released back into the wild at Wimpole Lake, where they could begin a new chapter.
During that time, the local postman noticed Paul's craftsmanship and asked if he could build an aviary for his budgerigars. Paul jumped at the opportunity, and soon after, a friend of the postman requested a similar build. That was the moment Arrington Aviary was born—a blend of instinct, heart, and a desire to do things right.
